VRI is one of the two most important Deaf access tools emerging throughout the business world today. Prior to the pandemic, video remote interpreting had risen to become vital to Deaf and HH employees and customers. VRI allows Deaf and HH users to access sign language interpreting services from remote locations via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, or any other videoconferencing platform.

Post-covid, VRI has become inextricable from modern Deaf access. Birnbaum Interpreting Services provides more than 40,000 minutes of VRI per month—many of which for Deaf and HH employees and clients for businesses across the country.

In addition to VRI, remote captioning—also referred to as Remote CART, Streamtext, or Relay Conference Captioning (RCC)—has become paramount to Deaf access services around the globe. Birnbaum Interpreting Services provides more than 50,000 minutes of remote captioning per month, and that number is growing rapidly.

BIS also provides traditional onsite captioning services. We work to meet the needs of all our commercial clients.
